A Free, Project-based Outdoor Elementary School in Corvallis, Oregon
Muddy Creek Charter School was established in 2008 to serve rural communities and the greater Corvallis–Albany area. Before the school became a charter in 2008, it was known across our community as Inavale School. We practice place-based education, meaning we teach in a way that connects kids to their natural surroundings and to community partners. Our hands-on, project-based educational activities engage the whole child through all of their senses, strengthening comprehension and joy in learning.
